The shot was very challenging considering the time of day and no tripod. The analougous greens and yellow/oranges play nicely together adding interest to the shot with the blues of the trunk adding their own touch. The work might have benefited from a sharp focal point. Had one of the leaves in the upper right been in sharp detail it would have attracted the eye then caused it to wander. Another thing that might have added to this shot would be clear view of the trunk. The line is broken by the leaves and allows the eye to get off track and lost rather than follow.
Remarkably sharp for the slow shutter speed without a tripod. Unfortunately is suffering from noise though which is not your fault in the obviously low light conditions. I like the sun shining through the leaves. I have to agree with the critique. 12mb? Was this taken as a RAW image?
Thanks, Brett. I'm not sure why the file size is so large. The original jpeg is 3MB. Somehow in the processing it grew. I will try to keep them down now that I know.

That happens to me sometimes, but not usually by this magnatude. Did you save it accidently as a TIFF or smething? I usually reduce mine back to around 1mb when saving.
Nope, no tiff involved. I did save it as a Paintshop image (so the jpeg wouldn't degrade with each change) and then convert it back. But I do that with all my files. I will make sure to keep an eye on that from now on.

Photoshop files are extremely large too. I remember my Yarra Tunnel picture being 300mb at one stage. I rarely use this format to save anything unless I know I have not finished with it, or occasionally on a HDR blend so I can scrap it and redo it without going to the trouble of placing the images on each other.
